James is one of the region’s leading voices on content security, cybersecurity, and AI risk for the film and entertainment industry. With over 25 years’ experience across production, post-production, broadcast, and VFX, he has helped studios, streaming platforms, and creative teams protect their intellectual property and outpace digital threats.

He’s the only Motion Picture Association Advanced TPN Assessor in Australia & New Zealand, the ISO equivalent for Hollywood content security. He has established governance frameworks across hundreds of global studios, VFX houses, and production facilities.

Earlier in his career, James built the Southern Hemisphere’s largest supercomputer for the production of Happy Feet 1 & 2,  combining cutting-edge infrastructure with workflow innovation. That foundation now drives his work, understanding that true security isn't just about technology, it's about people, processes, and making systems work seamlessly together.

James knows that real security isn’t just locks and audits, it’s culture. He develops and delivers training, workshops, and leadership sessions that embed awareness into day‑to‑day creative work, turning security into second nature.

As a member of the OpenSSL Business Advisory Committee, James contributes to cryptography and encryption standards shaping the future of digital security. His work bridges AI ethics, data privacy, and emerging media risks, helping organisations stay creative, stay compliant, and stay protected.
